Clinical Senate Council

The Clinical Senate Council is a small multi-professional steering group of between 20–30 members, which determines the clinical senate's activities and debates and agrees its outputs. The Clinical Senate Council is responsible for the formulation and provision of independent strategic clinical advice to CCGs, Area Teams, local authorities and Health and Wellbeing Boards, drawing on the wider views and expertise from the clinical senate assembly as required.

The Council is currently chaired by Dr. Lawrence Goldberg. Alongside the Chair, the Council comprises of standing (ex officio) members, and appointed clinical and Patient and Public Experience members. Appointed members are selected via a formal interview process following a process of nomination or individual approach and will maintain their role for two or three years.
