Dr Timothy Ho PhD FRCP

Timothy graduated in medicine with honours from St. George’s, University of London. He undertook general professional training in Leicester then specialist respiratory and intensive care training in London. He was awarded a Wellcome Trust Training fellowship at Imperial College and Stanford University culminating in a PhD in molecular microbiology.

Timothy has been a consultant chest physician at Frimley Park Hospital since 2004. During this time he has introduced in number of new services including the medical high dependency unit, a large obstructive sleep apnoea service, the first endobronchial ultrasound service in Surrey and a pleural diagnostic service. He has also been the director of the tertiary cystic fibrosis service and clinical director for medicine and care of the elderly.

Since December 2013, Timothy has been the medical director for Frimley Park Hospital and now Frimley Health. He was part of the executive team that led the acquisition of Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Foundation Trust, the first Foundation Trust to Foundation Trust acquisition; the delivery of the ‘Outstanding’ rating of Frimley Park and the recent regrading of Wexham Park Hospital from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’, considered by the chief inspector of hospitals as ‘the most impressive’ in the current inspection regime.

Timothy is a nominated inspection chair and specialist advisor for the Care Quality Commission.

Timothy believes that the NHS should be clinician led and its decisions should be made on this basis. The Clinical senate is a key part to this process.
