Professor Graeme Dewhurst

Graeme has overall responsibility for the postgraduate education and training of over 3, 500 doctors in the region, from qualification through to appointment as consultants or GP principals. He is also the senior clinician supporting and guiding the multiprofessional workforce across HEKSS.

He is currently the Senior Clinical Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians of London.

He was previously Head of Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex School of Medicine (2007-15) and has been a consultant general physician with special responsibility for the elderly in Chichester for over 25 years.

He was Undergraduate Sub Dean for Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Kings College London Medical School in Chichester until August 2015.

He has a strong teaching and research interest in clinical teaching and learning, gaining an MA in Clinical Education in 2009.He continues to provide hands-on clinical and seminar teaching.

He qualified from Cambridge University and embarked on clinical training at Guy’s Hospital before postgraduate appointments in London, Newcastle, Frimley, and Southampton.

He is committed to ensuring that healthcare education promotes and supports the service changes and developments needed for best patient care
